Can anyone please provide any document or any link with information on Custom Profiles.

Already went thru this link.
It doesnt have much info on Custom profiles
Did you check the embedded link for help....it tells you the procedure to create a custom profile:

Possible only if you have admin role assigned.
It is similar to creating other ESR objects...right-click --> new --> work area --> Usage Profile.
