Hi All,
I am implementing in a chemical company and they have a requirement that someof the characteristics have a calculated result. I have not used formula calculation for characteristics before, can anyone help me?
I have defined the characteristic (ex loss on drying) in the control indicators, i have checked the 'calc characteristics' option. Now in the inspection plan, I am trying to define the formula. The formula is such that
loss of drying=(x-y)/100 where x= weight before drying, y= weight after drying.
How do i define this?. Is it possible or will I have to define X and Y as characteristics?
Please reply urgently.
Thanks,
Ariel Desa
Hi ,
In my earlier mail I have explain formula in addtion to that I want to tell another thing ,
For 1 st 2 MIC keep unit of measure in MIC GM or Kg as per you requirement & 3 rd MIC which is calculated keep unit of measure %.
During result recording after taking result of 2 MIC valuate that MIC initially then valuate 3 rd MIC ( Calculated MIC )

Hi,
In our above case 1st put result for 1st MIC say 10 GMs
For 2nd MIC say 9 GMS
Once you put result for same select both line item click on force --pop window will come --accept their result for both.( In short you are valuating this result )
Then select 3rd MIC either select on 3rd MIC & again click on force & accept or select 3rd MIC & click on icon evaulate formula.
Once you valuate this in front 3rd MIC system will show you 10 %
Still any issue please revert me back.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies..i have 2 issues with this, 1st is that i am able to calculate the formula calculated value, but i want the valuation of the characteristic to be done automatically. i.e when i enter the result for the parameters, if they have lower or upper tolerances, system should accept or reject the characteristic automatically. right now it is asking me for manual valuation.
2ndly i needthe calculated value also to be valuated i.e i have a range for the calculated value also why doesnt that get valuated automatically as accept or reject?
Please reply soon.
Thanks,
Ariel
Hi,
It is SPRO setting
Spro -Quality managementBasic settingMaintain setting at palnt level -- then next screen select your plant click on detail--in result record tab --result record confugaration --choose option autamatic close.
.
For more information click on F1( Help ) by keeping curdar on recording confugaration.
Then try by that I think after putting result if you press enter & if result is within limit system will close it as accepted

Hi Sanil,
Thanks for the replies. i am still having problem as in i am entering the value and system is automatically prompting me to enter 'accept' or 'reject'. Why is this happening? is it something related to inspection procedure? i need the system to automatically valuate on pressing enter.
Thanks
Hi,
here system still give user chance to change the result. Even if result is not within youe limit still you get the chance to accept under deviation.
In SPRO detting as earlier mail I have given please explore if any such option is available.
Because whatever setting is their itself.

Hi,
You need to create 2 MIC as Before drying & after drying & 3rd MIC will be calculated MIC.
1 st line item in plan will be MIC before drying
2 nd line item will be MIC after drying
3 rd MIC will calculated
Formula for this MIC - (C010-C020)*100/C010
I think this will work for you .

Dear Ariel
You have to define X & Y as 2 different mics and loss of dryness as 3rd one. The 3rd mic should be calculated one .Suppose X is inspection char 0010 Y is 0020 and Dryness one is 0030.
For 0030 you can define formula as ( C00010 - C00020 ) / 100
Hope this helps

Hi,
Define X and Y as char and then define the formula for loss of drying char.'
