HI Karthikeyan,
regarding this error message I would kindly ask you to check the settings for your content repository and storage category in transaction OAC0, OACT and CSADMIN. This message normally points to a problem in accessing your KPRO content repository.
Best regards,
Christoph

I checked OACT, OAC0 & CSADMIN, all are working fine.
1) Connection test for content repository ZDMSXXXX was succesful.
2) In CSADMIN , Overview tab , system shows repository status as " Running"
3) Certificate also sent sucussfully.
Still i am getting same error message .....
Anything i am missing....
Note: System is working fine twodays before. Yesterday System downed due to some maintenance work. I am getting this error after system is up.....

Hi Karthikeyan,
could you please tell us which changes were made during the system down time? Was there maybe an update of the SAPGUI version or something like that.
Please check further the SAPHTTP and SAPFTP version and if possible please upgrade them to the lastest available version (see note 164203).
Best regards,
Christoph

Hi all,
Similar kind of issue occurred in one of our webdynpro applications of SAP NetWeaver Portal-
The error message "Error while checking in and storing" was returned by the BAPI while trying to replace documents in the DMS Server via portal.
But the documents were getting stored in the back end by the use of standard T-Codes.
Later it was found that ABAP tables COMPONENTS & COMPONENT_DATA are inconsistent by looking into the HTTP trace file.
The HTTP patch "http.c#21" was being used in our server.
SAP suggested the below mentioned steps-
-->Download the most recent SAPHTTP version & install it.
-->Then delete the RFC connections SAPHTTP & SAPHTTPA through T-Code SM59
-->Regenerate them again with report RSHTTP05
They were carried out in our ECC server & the issue was resolved.
Please try them out if applicable in your case & let us know.
Thanks & Regards,
Shreyashri Kar

Hi Christoph,
I am facing with the same issue.
The "Storage Category" is not visible in the "Checkin Doc" dialogue box. When I check in OAC0 the document Area is pointing to DMS2 instead of DMS. Is this setup correct? In CSADMIN , Overview tab , system shows repository status as " Running".In the Checkin Doc dialogue box I can see only the storage categories which has only document area as DMS.
Please advice.
Thanks & Regards
Jo Pz
