Transfer HU packaging material storage location

Hello to All

Can HU move the packaging material together with the packed materials?

We've created a HU at a non-HU managed storage location (HU02).

Now We're trying to transfer both packaging and packed materials to a HU-managed storage location (HUMO >> Edit >> Change HU posting >> Storage Location).

Our problem is that the system don't move the packaging materials neither checks if there's avaliable quantity.

Dear Darley,

Inventory Management for packaging material doesn't distinguish between unused stock and stock that is part of Handling Units. The stock figures just inform you about the total quantity of a packaging material in a storage location. Creating HUs with transaction HU02 will not change the stock figures of the packaging material used to compose them nor will the system check whether there is enough packaging material available. Its stock figures will only change after goods receipt and/or goods issue posting for deliveries with HUs - provided there are line items for the packaging material.

You cannot post "empty" packaging material to an HU managed storage location. Such a storage location will only accept HUs.

Hi Cristiane, thanks for your attention.

We aren't trying to consume materials with HU. I've successful done this at delivery good issue (both packed and packaging materials).

When we transfer the HU from the storage location 1 to storage location 2, the system changes the stock of all packed materials of this HU. If there's no stock for any of these materials, the system triggers an error message and abort the transfer, this is ok. But the packaging material is completely ignored, it's stock keeps at storage location 1 until the goods issue.
