Special characters for projects

Dear All

If we change any exting Special characters which already project exits it make any problem for creating new projects.

I.E in my client alreay they had defined PL for 1 Character .Now they are creating project as D.000.XX-XXXX. Now i want to create new codeing mask like DDDD.000.XX-XXXX if i change into PL as 4.The system will allow or it will make any problem to old projects and they can able to create project based on their old codeing mask.

Dear Raj,

Please note that if yyou cange the spl char for the project, it willeffect the existing projects. When you try to open those projects, it leads to rum time error (short dump).

You can over come the above issue by applying SAP note, please serach the forum or OSS for the note, I am not remembering the note now.

Another this is that, you if you have spl char 1 you can change it to higher value like 2,3,4 or 5. But you cannot revert to the lower value once you change it to Higher value.
