Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade SAP SCM Event Manager 1.1 to 7.0?

Is it worth reimplementation even if it is possible?

Hi Gopala,

Technically it is possible to upgrade from 1.1 to 7.0 but it all depends on the SAP EM functionality you have in place currently.

My couple of recent expereince from APO3.1 to SCM 7.0 went about becoming challenging functional re-implementation project than orginally planned technical Basis upgrade. The same case i would count for SAP EM with the solution becoming robust with latter versions. Some considerations points would be;

- Visibility scenarios capabilities

- use of WebDynpro vs. WCL

- alert framework, workflow

- BW business contents

- event reporting mechanism

- Service oriented architecture(SOA) web services packages

- dashboard vs. cockpit

- business collaborative environment

Hello Gopala,

as i remember there is no direct upgrade path from 1.1 to 7.0. You must first do an upgrade to 4.0 and then to 7.0.

You should find more infomation either in the service marketplace or solution manager.
