Customer Master maintenance with Vertex

Hi,

We have tax determination switched on using Vertex. As a result, a call to Vertex is done whenever a customer master is created / changed.

However, the call is being made to Vertex for customer hierarchy master data records as well. The customer hierarchy node defined may not have a specific address and we are looking for any ways in which the call to Verex can be de-activated based on account groups.

Would appreciate suggestions from the forum on how this could be achieved.

Rohit-

We are using Vertex and have set up the jurisdiction code 7700000000 for customers outside the US. We manually set this jurisdiction code and then the customer isn't charged taxes.

Have you exempted these customers in Sales Area Data -- Billing Documents-- Tax Classification?

Or on Vertex central - set up a Tax Assist Rule based on the customer account group- when the information is passed to Vertex, it will first hit this rule and then would return exempt status.
