SAP-Gateway on host: Internal error NiIRead: hdl 43 buffer too small

Hi forum,

I hope this is the right place to ask about network-related issues. If not, please move this thread to the correct location. Thank you.

We run SAP NetWeaver 2004s on AIX, patchlevel 201 and Oracle-DB 10.2.0.2.0; for a list of installed componets, please see bottom of this post.

The system is running fine, however we seem to have some network-related issues. When we try to move archive-files to a remote file-system (we use ArchiveLink), there are errors and the process stops. The errors are of type:

Connection to http://HLSAW150:8083/archivelink/ContentServer.htm : TCP/IP error.

The errors imply that there are network issues, and checking the logs from gateway monitor bring up following errors:

  • LOCATION SAP-Gateway on host sapitx / sapgw04

  • ERROR internal error

  • (this retcode should be handled by caller of NI-layer)

  • TIME Mon Mar 8 13:01:16 2010

  • RELEASE 700

  • COMPONENT NI (network interface)

  • VERSION 38

  • RC -7

  • MODULE nixxi.cpp

  • LINE 4281

  • DETAIL NiIRead: hdl 45 buffer too small (905<1583146490)

  • COUNTER 17414

I have checked service marketplace and SDN, but to no avail. Can you please help me analyzing this issue?

Thank you in advance & kind regards,

Mark

Hi,

you will have to validate in to buffer size at AIX.

Better, post in SAP Community Network Forums » Database & OS Platforms » SAP on Unix

you might get correct answer.

Nagaraju
