Confirmation regarding brtools

Hello,

I want to move an Oracle datafile using brtools.

I am following the standard SAP procedure - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_NW70EHP1/helpdata/en/1e/5f863f06593a17e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

However, it does not say anything about the status of the datafiles that I need to move -

Whether I need to make them offline before the procedure?

Do I need to make them offline, or will brtools handle it as well?

I have done this lots of times, just make sure the system is down, and brtools handle the rest...

Brtools handle the process and Its completely transparent... I can't remember if it make the datafile offline or not, but certainly at the end of the process is available. in anycase you can see the full process in detail on the logs after execution.

More: I actually checked an old log and basically copies the file to the new location, then rename, delete the old one and update the controlfiles with the new info... it does dismount and remount the DB so your system needs to be offline.

Regards

Juan
