include own report in post-processing for a client copy

Hi,

does anybody know if it is possible to include a Z-report in the post-processing phase of a client copy ?

We are doing regular client copies in HR area and there we have the problem that salary data is not scrambled immediately after the client copy ... the idea is now to include our salary scramble program in the post-processing phase for the client copy so that it would run before the client is unlocked again (during copy the client lock is active, of course) ...

Any information is helpful ...

cheers

Thomas

We have our own couple of tasks that we do "manually" after CC or System refresh's... what do you mean to add it to the post-processing?, Some people use TDMS for data scrambling

Hello Juan,

thanks for your reply ...

When looking to the file log of a client copy, there is a section "Start of post-processing by application exits ..." ... within this section you find log entries about execution of reports like following ...

Exit program RBDLSMAP successfully executed 23:26:28

Exit program RCRFCRDL successfully executed 23:26:29

Exit program RCTXTCPY successfully executed 23:26:48

... that means that somehow already some programs are started via application exits ... and the question is, if it is possible to add a Z-report to a appliocation exit to be executed as part of the client copy ... like it would be needed in our case for scrambling salary data ... as we have CUA active, user settings are not changed during the client copy what in fact means that several users would have access to production (salary) data ...

So executing this scrambling program manually after the copy means always some delay and during that time data is visible for users ... that'S why the idea is to include it already in the copy ... we have some "ideas" for a workaround (e.g. create a job step manually to the job what is scheduled for performing the copy ... that would at least make sure that the report would be executed immediately after teh copy) ... TDMS is not a option for the moment ... it might be used later ...

best regards

Thomas
