Hi,
In SRM there are two scenarios a company has to follow to implement SRM
1. Business scenario.
Please check the following link for the business scenario
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/ba/c06541a40c031de10000000a155106/frameset.htm
2. Technical Scenario.
There are 4 types of technical scenario
1. CLASSIC
2. EXTENDED CLASSIC
3.STANDALONE
4. DECOUPLED
Check this link for technical scenario

Hello Manu,
You can go through the below SRM 5.0 Help for process understanding in SRM

Hello manu..
I am also with the same profile 3 years of SAP MM and starting SRM just now...
as far ass process is concern... we first need to create shopping cart in SRM.. this shopping cart is same as PR in MM...
and then with reference to SC we can create RFx Doc (RFQ in MM).. PO, bid invitation, live auction... and after bidding and live auction we can create either PO or contract...
SRM gives all possible practical scenarios on purchase side of business....
let me know if anything u need to know in specific for the process
and about the t codes its all web baed navigation.. if u have the access and roles u can go thru them.. no spcific t codes need to kno...

KK

Hi manu,
For creating a Shopping cart you need to assign your user with the Organisaiton structure in PPOMA_BBP and then you shud have a Portal link or you can get it from SICF transaction with BBPSTART service and then you can log on into portal and create a shopping cart.
reply us back if you still face problem while creating a shopping cart
Thanks!!
