OS/DB Migration with migmon and ftpmethod : Gaps in ftp transfer

Former Member

Hello,

we are performing an OS/DB Migration with migmon and the ftp method.

WAN Connection between Source and Target System.

We are observing gaps in transfer. Export continues, but there is not disturbance on the line.

We are thinking about transferring the export files manually via ftp instead of using the build-in ftp.

Has anybody the same experience?

Have you tried the socket option? That might work...

Kind regards,

Hi Mark,

Datatransfer is going via WAN connection.

I dont think that it is wise to use socket option in this case.

In meantime we managed to reduce to overall migration time by using customer specific order and defined individual amount of load processes.

Did you have a look in the logfiles (export_Monitor*.log)?

Hi Markus,

there are no errors in, but there are gaps...

like:

.....

INFO: 2010-03-07 07:01:55

New max number of parallel export jobs 4 is used instead of previous 2 for package group 'MEDIUM SIZE FILES'.

INFO: 2010-03-07 08:01:04 com.sap.inst.migmon.LoadTask run

Unloading of '_BEV2_EDMSE' export package is successfully completed.

.......

=> and between 7 + 8 there is nothing transferred to the target system.

Cheers

Jörg
