BPM process : where in pipeline

Wanted to know where does bpm fit in the PI pipeline ? like we can do som nay steps like collect ,split IDocs etc. But where in pipeline does this kick off? since we can do recv determination also in bpm so does pipeline kick with the bpm rather than recv det?

The steps executed within a BPM (split/ merge/ throw alert) will not be visible under Pipeline steps of SXMB_MONI.....SXMB_MONI will only show the message processings in which the message has either travelled in/ out of XI/ PI (better word would be Integration Engine)

If you want to know how the steps inside a BPM get executed (diagrammatically) then in SXMB_MONI --> Message entry involving BPM --> Click on PE link --> Graphical display will be shown check how the BPM works over there.

Pipeline starts with Receiver determination which is part of Integration Engine (IE). There you provide the Integration Process name based on which the execution moved from IE to BPE.
