1) what is the effort required for initializing the data in the reprository ? Does MDM provide tools to perform the data migration, or is it a classical data migration (using Batch input for example) ?
MDM has the following tools for the data import from the source systems.
MDM Import Manager.
For Batch/automated Process:
MDM Import Manager Batch,MDM Import Server
2) I know that MDM offers tools to avoid duplicates. Can these tools be used when doing the initial data migration (so that the data are initialized in the central repository without duplicates) ?
Data Consolidation can be done in 2 stages.
a. While importing the data using Import Manager.
Consolidate using the Match records feature using various matching criterias.
b. In the MDM Data Manager.
Use the Search functionality and identify duplicates and merge those records into a single record.
3) Is there a "How to..." guide about MDM Implementation (with the main steps of a typcial project including the data migration) ?
