Extened Value Selector - F4 Value help - Filtering issue

Former Member

Hi,

I have Extended Value selector , F4 value help in my wd application, below are keys & text

keys -- texts

in -- india, asia

eg -- egypt, africa

When i filter the text column with 'sia', I expect evs to display me (india, asia).

In development portal, it working fine, but not in test portal (i.e. in test portal the entry is not displayed).

another point:

If i search with 'indi' in test portal then it is displaying 'india, asia' entry.

Observation: In test portal, Filtering the text with its first letters it works, but if we pick any middle (ex: sia) it is not working.

I want to get the filtered result even serach for its middle text.

The same code working fine in dev portal, but not in test portal.

Is this because of any difference in the patches? is any jar file missing? if yes which is that & where can i find? what is the feasible solution? Is there any SAP note for this.

(just to explain i had used 2 values, but in my application there are total 140 entries, more than 15 entrieswith 'asia' in the text, so when the user search for 'asia' it should display all entries which contain text asia anywhere in the text)

Regards,

Hussain

Hi,

yes, I strongly suggest you to bring the WD runtime to the very latest patch level, and then test again.

I don't know the current version of your WD Runtime, but I send the corresponding notes:

710 and higher: #1395865 - How-To Download Web Dynpro SCAs

640/700 (including EHPs): #1395627 - Import a patch for WebDynproRuntime Java

(as I can see this note is in status "in process" at the moment. Let me know if you have this release group, and then I tell you further instructions where to find patches in case you would need assistance).

Hello Ervin,

sap.com tc/wd/webdynpro: 7.00 (7.0018.20090323075157.0000) || SAP AG || 20090608090236 sap.com/SAP_JTECHF

NWDS: Version: 7.0.18 -- Build id: 200811120846

Could you please let me know the patchlevel to upgrade or any external jars to resolve this issue?

It worked fine in the older versions(I assume on sp 14 not sure), but currently on SP 18 its not working.

As we cannot move down to the lower versions, any solution for this?

Thanks

Maha

Hi,

the important part is rather the SC section where you can see something like this:

sap.com SAP_JTECHS 7.00 SP18 (1000.7.00.18.PATCH LEVEL.20XXXXXXXXXXX)

sap.com SAP_JTECHF 7.00 SP18 (1000.7.00.18.PATCH LEVEL.20XXXXXXXXXXX)

The WD runtime on 700 stands of the above two components, so if you patch it, you need to patch them both.

Unfortunately I cannot see this from the provided DC version, but anyway this is how to get the very latest version:

1. navigate to:

http://service.sap.com/patches > Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group > SAP NetWeaver and complementary products > SAP NETWEAVER > SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 > Entry by Component > Application Server Java >

2. Download the following two files:

a.) SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00 > SAPJTECHS18P_19-10003467.SCA

b.) SAP TECH S 7.00 OFFLINE > SAPJTECHF18P_18-10003468.SCA

3. Deploy them using the SDM RemoteGUI

After this your componentinfo page shall look like:

sap.com SAP_JTECHS 7.00 SP18 (1000.7.00.18.19.20XXXXXXXXXXXX)

sap.com SAP_JTECHF 7.00 SP18 (1000.7.00.18.18.20XXXXXXXXXXXX)

4. Test again.

I hope this helps!

Hi Maha,

first please apply the fixes (i.e. increase only the patch level for the mentioned 2 SCA files) as I've guided you, do not increase the SP level yet.

Best Regards,

Ervin
