Problems Installin NW7.2 on XPSP3 :-(

Hi SAP Gurus !!!

Trying 2 install NW7.2 on XPSP3, but i got an Error because of User Groups!

NW is looking for English User Groups an an international Version of XP, but i only have a German XP!

I tried to ignore it, but i have several Problems with the Installation, especially:

Error occured during execution of 'Server'

Also SWAP Size: I have 4GB RAM, XP´s just detecting 3GB, SWAPFILE is 3,4GB but NW wants to have much more, roundabout 7GB...

May i attach the sapinst_dev.log ???

Or do you know what i mean ????

Shall i retry the Install with New Options?

Kind regards, Markus

If you read the installation guides/notes then you'll see that you need that much swap memory. SAP systems are usually only supported US english operating systems.

How can i ctivate so much SWAP IN XP?

I have a separated SWAP Partition on my System, but manually i can only give 4096MB SWAP

Can´t i create a Usergroup "everyone" in a German System that works with SAP?

Or is it better to install a separate System in a VM?

The Problem with NW7.2 is solved because it has no ABAP

I have 5 Partitions on 2 HDD´s in my System!

C Win7

D WinXP

E Isozz/Gamezzz

F Data

G SWAP

OK, i will install SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Developer Edition

Will install an English XPSP3 with Java 1.4.2.x in a VM, if there are any Questions left i will open a new Thread

Thx for all answers,

Markus

Hii .....

I am not pretty sure about the sap suit that you are trying to use ... but it seems to be a trial version ...and like marcus said

SAP will have certain limitations for trial versions ...

And NW7.2 trial seems to be more for JAVA developers rather than ABAPer ..since it is more focused towards NW developer studio features..

about OS Swap memory thing try using different partitions ..

And

the swap memory is allocated from .hard disk.... so you can increase your swap size more than RAM

1st of all, thx 4 your Answers

I know how it works, thx!

But the Maximum Size in my XPSP3 is 4096 MB

You cant give more SWAP with this Option!

The other Question is: Do i really have to Install an English Version of XP?

We have SAP on our German XP in the Institute where i learn SAP ABAP, is miniSAP another Distribution or anything like that than a real System?

Sorry 4 all the Questions, but its my 2nd Week and i need the miniSAP for BC405

Not on the same disk, yes, you need another disks (or partition)

That's the supported way.

Well - in that case the CE 7.2 will not help you.

CE is a pure Java system, you can't do ABAP with that one

Hi ....

Actually your problem seems to be satisfying SAP requirement of Swap memory or virtual memory size ..on XP system ...

Following link will guide you to increase the virtual memory size in XP system.

I hope this information will do the need for you ....or any other information you need???
