Hi,
We have over 2,000 transports that needs to be imported from QA to PRD environment. Our DEV and QA servers are at one location and the PRD server is at another location. When I try to do Mass transports into PRD, it doesn't work. So, i try to do 100-200 transports in to PRD and it takes several hours.I was able to complete about 1000 transports. Now, i am running into a issue where the transports are not importing int PRD. When i select about 100-200 transports in block and then select the the small truck, the transports seems to be not moving. It just sits there and nothing happens. Can you please advise what actions i must take to fix this issue. Thank You!
This issue is resolved. Thanks for all of your help.

Hi Thareq, I would advice you to import transport request at OS level if huge number of TR's are there.
and if suddenly TR import is not happening(but previously it was happening) I would ask you to remount the /usr/sap/trans directory.
Let us know the outcome.

Hi All,
Thanks for the response. I am on a Windows environment. I have checked the disk space and i have over 100 GB of space. Space is not the issue. I also checked the transport stratege and it is selected "mass transports" . Below are logs i get from Transport TP.

Hi Thareq,
Kill any ongoing transport job if running. Delete the entries from the tables TMSTLOCKR, TMSTLOCKP, TPSTAT, TRBAT, TRJOB. Also rename all the .LOC/.LOB files in the directory /usr/sap/trans/temp as old or move these files to a different location. /usr/sap/trans/temp directory should be empty.
Now try importing all the requests either through OS level or using STMS.
Regards
Sourabh Majumdar
SIDADM user with all permissions that is read write and execute.
I would ask you to perform the steps suggested by Sourabh first, so that you have a clean /usr/sap/trans/temp in place.
then you can have a look on the permissions.

Hi,
I have added the SIDADM to the directory
misap-smx01\sapmnt\trans\tmp and i am no longer getting access issue error message. I opened up an OSS message and SAP had advised me to increase my background work process and do mass transport which i have done. I have over 2000 transport in the ECP queue. I ran the mass transports and now i see 3 TP.EXE process running in the ECP server. Below are the latest message i get from TP log. How can i know if the mass transport is even working or not? Please advise as this has become a critical issue for the company.

Hi,
Check in SM37 if any job start with RDD* are in active state. If it is in active state then check the status of that job. If it gets cancelled status then you again follow process which I said above and try reimport. If it not showing cancelled status then cancel the jobs manually and follow as said above.
Regards,
Sharath
Hi,
The checked the RDD* job and below is the status for the job. It's in realease status but the duration and delay status is not chaning. I have also chaged the priority of the job from C to A. No progress. Please note that i am doing the transports in ECP 300.

-Login with <SID>adm and navigate to the directory /usr/sap/trans/bin.
-Run the command tp showbuffer and delete all the entries if any.
-Open a text file and write the below commands for each request number--
tpaddtobuffer <request number> <SID> pf = <Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
tp import <request number> <SID> client <client number> pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
-Save the file in the location /usr/sap/trans/bin with the extension *.bat.
-Open the command prompt and run the batch file.
This will import all your transport requests in mass.

There will also be a trans directory in your target system. The shared trans directory must be a global directory which holds the exported files.
You need to do this activity on your target system on which you want to import the requests.
If your target system is Production, perform this activity in production.
Regards
Sourabh majumdar
Try this:
tp addtobuffer <request number> <SID> pf = <Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
tp import <request number> <SID> client=<client number> u128 pf=<Drive>:\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
Please make sure you are inside the directory \usr\sap\trans\bin when using this command.

What is the setting for the system : STMS -> Overview -> Transport Routes then select your PRD system and double click on it or from EDIT -> System -> Change. Now what option do you see under Transport Strategy ? is it Mass transport or Single transport.
Hope this helps.

Follow below steps for mass transportation:
1) Import the list of transports into Excel, 1 transport per line.
2) In the next column, enter the following Excel Formula in the first cell: ="echo 'Importing "&A1&"';"&"tp addtobuffer "&A1&" SID;"&"tp import "&A1&" SID;"
3) Copy this cell down the second column as far as necessary, so you get an echo, addtobuffer and import command generated for each transport.
4) Once the command lines are generated, copy the second column, and use PASTE SPECIAL, VALUES to paste it to a third column.
5) Now you have a command line string for each transport. Copy this column into a file in /usr/sap/trans/bin on the system you're importing into, and execute the file.
Notes:
Obviously, you can add any extra parameters, just by changing the formula you use in column 2. For Windows environments, don't create the echo command - just make sure you have echo set on in the command window. For UNIX environments, do leave the echo statement in, just in case there are problems - you'll want to tell your developers which transport was broken.

Hi ,
1.Please check table spaces for enough space.
2.Please chek all file system for enough space.
3.Don't send mass transport requstes better to trasnport less thna 50 and transport in non peak hours.
4.Finally if u r problem is remain same then do it in os level using TP tool.(Make a script in batchfile to transport---if in case of windows.).
Please give me reply if problem remains same.
Warm regards,
vijay

Hi Thareq,
Please use the big truck icon to while importing requests in bundles. Select the block of transport requests which you want to import and click on the bigger truck labeled as "Import all requests".
