Hi,
A MII BLS is calling BAPI_GOODSMVT_GETITEMS to get recent transactions for a report. As the date range extends, the time it takes to receive the response gets longer. (2 minutes for 5000 documents).
We're talking about 5MB of data. This is not much account for significant network lag. Neither can this time be explained by the time it takes for SAP ECC to process the data.
Could these 2 minutes come from MII to 'parse' the response in its XML structure?
If so, how can we improve the processing? If not, how can we find where the bollteneck is?
Thanks for any input in troubleshooting this production issue.
MII version is 12.0.5.
Hi,
Let's try to split up the scenario.
1. Execute the BAPI "BAPI_GOODSMVT_GETITEMS" in SAP ECC by providing sufficient inputs.
2. Try to find out how long it takes to execute in SAP ECC.
3. If it takes more than 2 minutes, take help from ABAP consultant and fine tune the BAPI to get the results faster.
4. If not, fine tune the steps in MII using BLS.
Thanks

As Rajesh says, you need to find out where the problem lies, you should be able to determine this by executing your transaction with trace on, the dialog will show you how many milliseconds each action takes to run.
Sometimes XMII can take an awful long time to process data, I suggest using a transformation to format the output of the BAPI, or if even this is too slow, get an ABAP guy to write you a version of the BAPI that feeds it's output directly in the required format or even into a database.

Nick
