Unable to login to Universe Builder

Hi,

I get the following error when I try to login to the Universe Builder.

"Unable to cast COM object of type "DesignerX12.Application Class" to interface type 'DesignerX12.IApplication.' This operation failed because the QueryInterfaceCall on the COM component for the interface with IID.....

Any help is appreciated.

PS: CCM Server ON.

I am currently working with SAP Support. Universe Builder 3.1 will not launch from the server (Windows 2008 Enterprise SP2).

SAP Support asked me to uninstall BOE 3.1 and all related components, but it did not resolve issue. The work around is to launch Universe Builder from workstation instead. If SAP support resolves issue, I'll post an update.

Try running the tool as administrator

Hi SR, did you find a solution to this. We have the same problem for BO 3.1. even with Administrator as logon id.

Were you ever able to log on to Universe builder?

Are you trying to create Universe on the Top of SAP CUBE OR QUERY?

Have you done any update of Service Pack and Fix Pack?

Make sure your services are running fine.

If it is SAP then have you installed Integration Kit and if yes make sure you select SAP Autnetication.

if you have done update then check to see if all servers are running in CMC.

Hi,

Even when I login as Administrator, I get the error message.

CCM is ON. Iam trying to login to Universe Builder for the first time. I dont have SAP yet installed. Iam just trying to login to Universe Builder.

take a look at note 1364536 and see if that solves the problem

I read 1364536. It said the SP3 for BO Edge XI 3.1 will include the fix. Where can I download SP3?

Yes, I could login to WebI, DeskI, Infoview.

I could invoke Designer but not the Universe Builder.

i'm having a similar problem. I noticed another thread where you can run the it as administrator and it runs ok. That worked for me
