Procure from 2 plants in SNP, one plant has priority

Hi All,

There is a scenario I need your help...

Suppose there is 1 DC DC01 and 2 Plants PL01 and PL02 in the supply chain. If there is requirement in DC01, both PL01 and PL02 can supply. PL01 has higher priority than PL02. That means the capacity in PL01 will be used out first then capacity in PL02 will used.

An example: Demand is 100 in DC01 in one week, standard capacity in PL01 is 30, standard capacity in PL02 is 80. The expected planning result is 30 stock transfer from PL01, 70 stock transfer from PL02.

Ideally, we don't want SNP involved in production planning, that means SNP better not used to generate planned order, only stock transfer.

I understand SNP heuristic is not able to fulfill this. CTM and Optimizer might work. If we use Optimizer, any suggestions on how to model the cost and the capacity to have the expected planning result?

Thanks,

Bin

Hi Bin,

This is pretty simple. Even you dont need any transprtation resourse/capacity. You use SNP Optimizer and just maintain lower transportation cost at the T-lane (PL01 -> DC01) as compare to T-lane, PL02 -> DC01.

For test purpose you can use the sap default optimizer profile with no constraint. In SNP1 tab page you maintain large amount of non delivery cost, and also maintain some delay cost, max delay.

If there is not enough stock then you have to take care of the production cost is lower at PL01 or atleast same for both the plant. Or better you dont maintain any production cost for both the plant.

Let me know if you still have issue.

Thanks,

Satyajit

Hi,

As in your scenario you wan to genrate only stock transfer requisition and not planned orders, you need to use snp optimizer with consideration of only transportation capacity and not production capacities(this can be done by setting in optimization profile). To priortise you can define lower transportation cost for prefered trasportation lane.
