CAR.EXE won't work - "error in header"

Hi!

Whichever *.CAR or *.SAR file I try to unpack by using CAR.EXE, I get message "error 12: format error in header". Since can't all the files be corrupted, something else must be wrong. I am using the standard systax:

CAR -xvf <path>\file.car

Please help!

Hi Igor,

1. how did you "get" the files? By FTP? Did you use the "binary mode"?

2. Have you ever tried with SAR (the SAP specific CAR)?

Try to use SAPCAR instead of CAR. You can download the lastest SAPCAR from https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/swdc
