Use of Supply Chain Engineer

Hi,

What's the use of Supply Chain Engineer (Tcode:/SAPAPO/SCC07)? Does the APO implementation project really needs it?

And let me know in which case do we generally use it.

But once again, you don't need to use SCE to do any of these changes.

You can use SCE to add master data objects to a model.

But you can do the same function from the master data transaction itself.

I personally never use it, except to visually see the supply chain model, but many are too complex to view anyway.

Terminology is important.

It can be used to create models, but you don't need SCE to do so.

Its really just a graphical representation of the supply chain model that is created by assigning your master data to the model.

Planning Versions are basically assigned to a model.

And you can have different sets of master data in a different model to perform what if scenarios.

Hi Ken,

Can I assume Supply Chain Engineer is only used for representation (dispaly) purpose?

THanks,

Ram,

No, it also is used to make changes. You can use SCE to assign/unassign objects to the active model (usually 000). Performing this functionality makes these objects usable or not usable.

Hi Ram,

This is fully integrated APO component for creating models

which performs planning functions which covers network

chain, supplier, customer.

We can use this functionality to create & maintain models

in a network in a typical supply chain. A model in turn can

link to various versions (both active and simulations).

We can also have an eye watch of supply chain elements

like various products, master data like lanes, quota, resources,

ppm etc.,

We can also use this tool to execute queries so that it comes

with information about individual data.
