Hello,
we have a test environment with ESXi 4.0U1 on a dell RM710 server with SAP ECC6.0 EHP3 with SAP Netweaver 7.00 and Windows 2003 x64 Standard.
SAP-Kernel Patchlevel is 203, Support Package SAPKB70017 is installed an SAPOSCOL is patchno 185. We have also installed the vcredistx64 Microsoft C-Runtime 8.0. Additional we have made the entries in VMWare:
Misc.GuestLibAllowHostinfo=1 (host) and tools.guestlib.enableHostInfo=true (guest).
But I cannot see the VMWare host in OS07N.
Any ideas?
Hello,
please provide the output of the following commands:
saposcol -v
(only the first line, beginning with "SAPOSCOL version COLL.....")
saposcol -o
(only the last two sections, "Virtualization Configuration" and "Virtualization Metrics")
And please search for the vmGuestLib.dll which should be in one of the directories of %PATH% and also provide the version of this file (to be found on: right click, properties, details, product version).
Kind regards,
Matthias

Hello Matthias,
the vmGuestLib.dll is in the path-variable an the file exists.
Output of saposcol -o:
-
Windows -
Validation Record: VVVVVVVU
Validation Record: VVVVVVVU
-
Configured Processes -
Validation Record: VVVVVV
-
END -
Output of saposcol -v:
SAPOSCOL version COLL 20.95 700 - 20.65 NT 08/02/06, 64 bit, multithreaded, Non-Unicode
Thank you for your early answer. Non-Unicode is a strange thing, we have Unicode system!
Regards, Karlheinz

Hello,
the saposcol is always non-unicode (which is a little bit confusing, I know...)
There isn't a different section in OS07N which is about the host, but there are some metrics (beginning with Host_) which display host-related data.
To see their detailed descriptions and the mapping to their OS07N equivalents, see [SAP Note 1260719|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1260719].
Kind regards,
Matthias
