Hi,
I am new to the XI world.
Am trying for DB lookup in mapping. Can anyone tell me that is ABAP mapping more convenient for DB lookup.
Can the cross reference tables reside in the XI server and can we refer them in the ABAP mapping.
Thnx,
Pravesh.
Hi,
It is advisable to maintain the table in R/3 and not in the XI abap stack. You can use RFC to do this DB lookup.
Thanks,

Hi,
What I meant was that there will fields in the incoming message from legacy system for which there are corresponding values in R/3, there are tables which contain legacy values and their corresponding R/3 values.
These are maintained in XI from SE11.

What did you really mean by cross reference tables residing in XI server?
ABAP mapping would be good f u access ANY tables on XI stack or to connect any sap systems by RFC inside ABAP mapping...
But use michael blog incase of non sap systems..!
