Error connecting DBMgui : -4 server rejected connection

When I tried to add a connection in the DBMgui I get the following error in a popup screen:

-4 server rejected connection

When the connection to this database was already made and was stored, connecting to the database is possible. The problem occers only when try to add it as a new connection.

Restarting the x_server isn't possible because it is an production system.

Find below the answers on your questions:

DBMgui runs on my PC. Database is on a linux server.

From my PC it is possible to run the DBMcli command :

C:\Program Files\SDB\DBM>dbmcli -n blcb13 -d YZP -u control,control db_state

OK

State

ONLINE

Ping is possible.

Port is default (7210), forcing the portnumber or/and ip adress make no difference.

DBMgui is running on XP and Windows7

DB is on Suse Linux SLES10

Yes I'm a SAP customer (37262).

Strange problem, isn't?

hmm interesting

is DBMGUI on different server than DB it self ?

can you use dbmcli commands

dbmcli -n <host> -d <SID> -u control,<pwd> db_state

can you ping <host> ?

what port do you use when creating connection in DBMGU , try to enter explicitly 7210

same with host, try ip address, instead of hostname

what os/platform is DBMGUI on ?

what os/platform is DB on ?

are you SAP customer ?

Only this error after an succesfull logon with the DBMgui in DBM.prt:

No errors in dbmserv_.prt and other logfiles.

DB version : 7.6.06.03

DBMgui version : 7.6.06.04

A stored (existing) connection in the DBMgui work still fine. But when I delete this server/database and add it again the error mentioned before occurs. This only occured for this database, other saved database connection don't have this problem. So I suggest the gui is not the problem.

what version do you have (DB version)

what version of DBMGUI you have ?
