Hello,

My company have an SAP netweaver 7.0 and when i check in system status sub-window and disp+work i got 221 level patch of the kernel and non unicode system, i read the note 1422843 and i want to apply it but i need a confirmation of steps i have to run following the note :<br>

1-i use SE38 to create a report in the package SPOO with the name RSPO2010, in the header of that report i past the text from

the note in the <b>"Seletion texts"</b>.<br>

2-I apply the note via transaction snote then i run that report<br>

3- I update the kernel with the suitable (bellow) patch attached obtained from the part <b>SP Patch Level</b> of the same note :<br>

<b>SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;SP238&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;000238</b>

4- i restart the SAP system.

The note link : https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1mciZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1422843#PL

thank you for your help.

Hello my friend

1. Increase spool number range to 999,999 by SNRO.

2. Use transaction SP01 to find all spool requests created between December 23rd 2009 and the current day that should not been deleted after 8 days. Archive these requests or change the deletion date to e.g. 31.12.2070.

3. Apply note 1422843 via SNOTE to obtain report RSPO2010.

4. Apply the latest kernel patch level 236, and then apply disp+work patch level 244 (the latest).

5. Run this report once without changing any parameters.

The stack kernel patch 238 hasn't released yet but they did mention to apply it in note 1425811, that's too early to be true, it happens all the time......

Hi,<br>

In the Note 1422843 at the part cocnerning my system <b>( For Basis Release 6.20 and higher:)</b> they didn't talk about the profile parameter of the retention time (profile parameter<b> rspo/req_lifetime</b>), when i checked the system of my company i found it missing.

Should i create it with the value 8 (days) as it's mentionned in the note for the other releases?<br>

Oh, is it? Its default value is 8 in 700 release, if it's missing for some reason then you better set it to 8.

Yes it's missing, when i'm looking for it using RZ10 i dont find it, and when i'm using SE38(RSPFPAR) i find it with the comment "Not Used"<br>.

Following the note i'm creating a plan about parameters to change, reposrts to check & create... all actions to do in this change, therefore i'm be thankfull for your help :

In the not, in the second step of the part "For Basis Release 6.20 and higher:" , they said :

Use transaction SP01 to find all spool requests created between

December 23rd 2009 and the current day that should not been deleted

after 8 days. Archive these requests or change the deletion date to

e.g. 31.12.2070.

How can i archive the spool request ?

Check in RZ11 for the current value of this parameter.

To archive spool requests: SP01 --> define time period --> select all --> spool request --> Forward --> Send using SAPoffice (email attachment) or Export as text (txt files in workdir C:\Documents and Settings\<userID>\SapWorkDir)

Hi,

This method export text files containing the informations about the spool request, not saving the content of the request in order to recover it later, therefore i think the second method "or change the deletion date to e.g. 31.12.2070." which consists of changing the deletion date is better, but how to do it for dozenes of spool requests by one actions without chaging it for each request one by one <br>

thank's for correction my understanding of the procedure if it's wrong.

Hi,

I just found an answer to my question _ :

it's possible to select a lot of requests in order to update there attributes :

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d9/4a8f2f51ea11d189570000e829fbbd/content.htm

I didn't test it yet.

Hello,

About The point 4 (

Apply the latest kernel patch level 236, and then apply disp+work patch level 244 (the latest).

), when i follow the download link of kernel patch suitable to my release (SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT) in the note 1425811 (related to the note 1422843) i have two choices with different packages :

1) SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT -> AIX 64bit -> #Database independent, this list offers this packages :

A) SAPEXE_236-20001020.SAR&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Kernel Part I (for Basis 7.00)

B) dw_239-20001020.sar&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;disp+work package

C) dw_245-20001020.sar&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;disp+work package

2) SAP KERNEL 7.00 64-BIT -> AIX 64bit -> ORACLE, this list offers this packages :

A) SAPEXEDB_236-20001021.SAR&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Kernel Part II (for Basis 7.00)

Please i need to know What packages to apply? and i need to understand while the note refers only to the kernel patch how did you know that the disp+work package also must be applied?

To apply new kernel:

1. backup /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/run.

2. download SAPEXE_236-20001020.SAR, SAPEXEDB_236-20001020.SAR and dw_245-20000978.sar

3. unzip SAPEXE and SAPEXEDB to have kernel files, then replace old ones in /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<nn>/exe and /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/run/as with new kernel files

4. unzip dw_245-20000978.sar to have version 245 of disp+work, replace old ones as last step
