Dear all,
Please tell me how to release sales order like -purchase order .
Thanks & Regards
Amit Karalkar
Hi Amit,
There is no such release strategy for sales orders like in purchase orders. But you have a alternative way of handling same. That functionality is called "Status Profiles"
Status Profile consists of several individual statuses, which can be changed in specific order, each status can be linked to a particular authorization group, and also it can influence corresponding business transaction. With this functionality we can restrict access to the document if it is in specific Status.
The most common functionality we use to block creating deliveries or billing documents is the delivery block / billing block in the sales order line item level. The main disadvantage of this is, all users who has VA02 access can remove this block at any stage.
But if the business wants only an authorized person to change the delivery block / billing block, we cannot do it. (Unless you remove access to VA02 from all merchandisers, which is not practical)
To serve the above requirement, we can user status profiles in SAP.
We have to create statuses for each block (delivery and billing) and have to assign relevant authorizations keys to each status. Based on the business requirement, we have to assign those authorizations keys to relevant user IDu2019s.
In that case; users who have the relevant authorizations key (assigned to their user id) will only be able to changing the status in the sales order. (In other words to remove delivery block / billing block)
That's one example I can tell you on how to use this functionality. But you can check it by your self to check whether your release strategy can be handle via same.
IMG Path: SPRO -> Sales and Distribution -> Sales -> Sales Documents -> Define and Assign Status Profiles / Define Status profiles
If this satisfy your requirement, please let me know. I will e-mail you the relevant configuration document. (I need you e-mail address as well)
Best regards,
Anupa

Dear Anupa/ Lakshmi,
we have the status profile, but after all releasest, it is again not creating a delivery.
We are 2 levels of release for a sales order,
( 1 will create sales order
2nd will check the pricing and release,
3rd will finally release when delivery is taking place.
config done is :
Status profile : PROFILE
Status no Status lowest highest poistion priority Autho_key
10 Create 10 30 1 1 KEY1
20 REL1 20 30 1 1 KEY2
30 REL2 30 30 1 1 KEY3
Transaction control :
10 - Create delivery - Forbidded.
20 - Create delivery - Forbidded.
30- - Create delivery - Allowed
After releasing all 3., when we create delivery system tells
"Create delivery not allowed Item User status CReate object VB........10
Please help on priority.
Ashish
Hi,
Check this in the sales order.
Go to Sales Order in VA02. Go to Header or Item Status tab based on your configuration.
Check the value under "Overall blkd status" field there. It has to be "Not blocked"
If it says "Blocked" then you won't be able to do the delivery as per the configuration.
Then, Click on "Object Status' button
Go to "Business Processes" tab
Check whether there is anything with "RED" flag active. You can go up and down by using those 2 navigation buttons or page up/down button
If there is anything appear with RED, then you need to check that in your status profile and change the configuration if it is not required.
Save it and test it form the beginning to see whether it working fine now.
Thanks and best regards,
Anupa
Greetings cnrnair
Thank you for the time taken to reply.
I'm afraid that I could only follow up to this point:
"Use authorization object B_USERSTAT to give authorizations for those authorization keys. If you add this object to a particular user role you can able to restrict by assigning value interval (authorization code or key) ."
I don't know how to make this assignment and probably this is why I failed in my attempt.
Could you please give me a step-by-step method for adding B_USERSTAT to a role?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.
Greetings SImon.
I made all the assignments presented in the document but the result is not identical. To be more specific even though in the Sales Order the User Status is xxx2(billing block) or xxx3(no influence) I still get the error message:
"Create delivery not allowed (User Status xxx1, object)"
I must also confess that I didn't set any authorization code to myself because it wasn't clear how and I have no experience with user access rights maintenance or whatever.
Also from the document I didn't understand how/what/where must I do in order to differentiate the access rights to this process for all users.
Any advice or explanation is warmly welcomed.
Best regards.
Hi,
There is no u2018Release strategyu2019 for sales order. But by user authorization and transaction variant (SHD0) you can control to some extent.
For example, USER1 is allowed to create sales order; USER2 is allowed to check the sales order and release it.
By transaction variant make the u2018Delivery blocku2019 field in display mode with a blocking reason (Example: Approval Pending). Assign a transaction code for this transaction variant. Give authorization for this TCode to USER1. So, whenever the USER1 creates a sales order, it will be saved with a blocking reason. So, the delivery will not be done without removing the delivery block.
Give the u2018Change Sales orderu2019 (VA02) authorization to USER2. The USER2 will check the sales order and remove the Delivery Block. Now the sales order can be delivered.
