Hello experts,
I'm planning on performing a system copy of an R/3 Enterprise system to a new server, I want to perform an upgrade to SQL Server 2005 should I make that in two steps:
-Install SQL Server 2000 on the new server, perform system copy and then upgrade to sql server 2005
or
-can I install sql server 2005 directly on the new server and perform the system copy
thanks in advance for you advice
best regards
Maria Valdes
Hi,
-Install SQL Server 2000 on the new server, perform system copy and then upgrade to sql server 2005
or
-can I install sql server 2005 directly on the new server and perform the system copy
You can append an SQL Server 2000 database to an SQL Server Version 2000, 2005, and 2008.
Please refer this SAP Note 151603 - Copying an SQL Server database and other relative SAP Notes to get more info. This SAP Note is having step-by-step details to perform system copy.
