System Copy - Export Issue

Hi Guru's,

I'm facing an error while doing the export for system copy.

Error details mentioned below :

An exception occurred while connecting to the message server instance SID/DVEBMGS00 on host hostname, port 3900. DIAGNOSIS: The original exception was: wapsmod.ms.MsAttachFailed: Connect to message server (hostname/3900) failed: NIECONN_REFUSED.. SOLUTION: Make sure that the message server is started.

OS : Windows 2008

DB : MS SQL 2005

SAP : ERP 6.0 SR3

Kindly suggest me for this.

Is the message server running? Are exporting off of a cluster?

Hi,

I stopped SAP instance for taking the export.

Don't stop the instance before the export starts. There's a selection button in sapinst to "stop sap instance", on export time sapinst will stop and requests you to stop the instance.
