Lead Time for Procurement Materials

Hi Gurus,

Can you elaborate on hierarchy for procurement lead time materials. If there is lead time given in Material Master as well as Info record and Source List. Then which lead time will be considered by the system for procurement?

Also clarify what is the significance of Source list for Material Master?

Regards,

Pradeep

Hi

System takes more priority for lead time mainatained in Info record ahead of material master's planned delivery time. Along with planned delivery time, purchase processing time maintained in OMEW and GR processing time in Material master.

Source list defines the vendor/list of vendor who supply material for a plant in the given validity period. A vendor can be fixed or blocked. FIxed vendor makes MRP to create source assigned PO. later it can be made as PO automatically.Scheduling agreement with sourcelist and MRP relevency indicator 2 can give automatic schedule line.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. But in this case then what is a hierarchy for lead time in System? Which time is considered first.

if you work with source lists. then you can set there an MRP indicator to ONE item (or to many if you use quota arrangements)

based on this MRP indicator, the MRP run can determine a source, hence it will know about an info record.

If MRP does not know about a source then it can only use the info from material master.

if it does a succesfull source determination then it can take the info from info record.

As per hierarchy is between Material master lead time and info record lead time only. Info record will be first. and If info record is not there then it will take from material master.

So calculation will be

Leadtime (Info record/ Mat.master) + GR processing time + Purchase processing time = Deiivery date

Lead time is calender days. GR processing time and Purchase processing time are working days.

Hope you are clear.
