Hi guys,
I am in the process of migrating system for the below
source system
IDES ECC 5.0
WebAS 6.40
MSSQL 2000 SP4/8.00
Target system
IDES ECC 5.0
WebAS 6.40
ORACLE 9.2.0.6
I am currently stuck at the migration key. At the heterogeneous system copy screen stage -> Database load which is asking for a migration key. I always got the error -> wrong migration key and unable to proceed.
We registered the key at service.sap.com/migrationkey on the source system's installation no.
kindly advise any experience of such and any other possible solution or alternative. Thks
Steven
We eventually we got through a long series of Wrong Migration Key errors by making the OS and DB selections as generic as possible. That is, rather than trying to specify the exact version of Oracle, Linux and Unix, from the drop-down lists, we selected Linux and Unix without versions, and likewise with Oracle, even though we were also upgrading Oracle at the same time, from 9.2 to 10.2.

Hi All,
I'm also facing same problem in Import ABAP Phase,
Error Message: " The migration key for a heterogeneous system copy is wrong. SOLUTION: Enter a valid migration key."
Source System: OS/400
DB: DB2 UDB for Iseries, 7.1
SAP: Solman 7.1
Target System: Linux 6
DB: DB2 LUM 10.1
SAP: Solman 7.1
Also I tried with “1G5fdEM50DwIrBzjt6TE5Pae ” (valid until 31/DEC/14) Key which is available in 1768158 (1768158 - System Copy of Systems Based on SAP NW 7.0 / 7.0 EHP 1-3 ) SAP note, but no luck.

Vino

Please guys:
if you post logfiles, please put code tags around them (mark the pasted text and press on the "<< >>" sign next to the "underline" button. This will prevent that the backend will interpret the input and makes the logs much more readable.
Are those systems single codepage systems or MDMP systems? If the latter, then you need to enter "MDMP" as export codepage (not 1100 as by default). To make this field editable for non-numeric characters, follow the section "System copy of MDMP systems:" to change dialog.xml in
Note 970518 - Hom./Het.System Copy SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SR2
although that note is for 7.00 it also works for 6.40 based kernels.

Hi,
Use the following migration key (valid until 31/DEC/08):
1G5fdEM50TMIrBzjt6TE5Pae

Hi Steven
Please use the default Migration key for any heterogen sys copy " 1G5fdEM50T1IrBzjt6TE5Pae" as per SAP note 970518. Hope you should be through with this silly error.
Best luck
Samiran

more info about error. I even tried the below.
1.SAPF12 - F12 is homogeneous copied to sapec1 -F12 successfully.
2.exported from sapec1-F12-SQL (same source / target system)
3.import as sapec1-EC1-ORA. - STILL no luck and stuck with migration key error.
4.r3load / ldctl similar version or latest version and etc.
5. extracted error migkey.log.
6. Source: Rel6.40(Non-unicode,IDES ECC 5.0,POSSIBLE WITH MDMP)
7. Good solution will be rewarded with points.
8. Tried Note: 788924 - no luck and was for unicode system.
9. Loaded also latest R3load.* and dboraslib.* (on target)

Hello,
I got the same error:

when I tried to load an db export into a MaxDB system.
A new R3load returned the same error.
Is there a solution available?
Regards, Armin

Maybe you can check the language configuration and export log of the source sytem.
For example: SAPAPPL0.log
(CNV) WARNING: conversion from MDMP to 1100 not possible
Correct language config and export again maybe can solve this problem.
(To change language config is dangerous. check notes 838403 and Backup)

It's a long shot, but have a look at note 459899, in particular the section below that is a direct copy from the note, this also mentions the DBSL_CMD_IMP_FUNS_SET error you've been getting & another potential fix. Yes it's about 3 years old & is for a BW install, but its Oracle & an R3Load process failing with the same error you currently have.
good luck, you never know....
beyond that I know from personal experience that migration keys can either work straight off or be very very frustrating for no obvious reason! I recommend checking with SAP if it is possible to migrate an IDES system (i'd be suprised if you can't)
Danny
-12/FEB/02-R/3LOAD error due to non-default mount directory-------
You must use the default mount directory /sapmnt for your SAP System, otherwise R3LOAD cannot connect.
DO NOT even use "/sapmnt/<SAPSID>".
If you have already run in this problem, the following string exists in the SAP<TABART>.log, for example SAPAPPLO.log:
"... (DB) ERROR: DbSlControl(DBSL_CMD_IMP_FUNS_SET) rc = 20
(DB) ERROR: DbSlErrorMsg rc = 20... "
Solution:
a) Open file <SAPinst_INSTDIR>/keydb.xml
b) Search for string

c) Adjust DIR_LIBRARY path in row
<row>
<fld name="dbSid">
<strval>BW1< /strval>
</fld>
<fld name="SapSystemName">
<strval>BW1< /strval>
</fld>
<fld name="Name">
<strval>DIR_LIBRARY< /strval>
</fld>
<fld name="Value">
<strval>/sapmnt/BW1/exe] ]></strval>
Enter here exactly the sapmnt path that is mentioned in the
SAP<TABART>.log.
</fld>
</row>
d) Save your settings.
e) Run ./sapinst in your <SAPinst_INSTDIR>
Steven, I've had trouble in past with migration keys that has eventually been traced back to different versions of 'R3load' being used for the export and import.
If possible make sure R3load is the exact same release & patch level during the export and import. I have found this applies even if you are moving to a different OS platform.
Hope that helps
Regards
Danny

Thks for guys's prompt input. but still doesn't work despite r3load same release / version.
1. wondering, if we permit to migration IDES system.
2. also checked this 2 notes without luck

Hi
Please enter the hostname in proper case.
(as found in hostname command)
Also make sure that installation numbers and source and target DB's are correctly selected while key generation.
Also check SPA note 813964 for details
