Deployment Error Help me

I got the following deployment error while deploying onto SAP J2EE Engine!

I am doing a Java Server Proxy scenario.

<b>"Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !"</b>

It meant to say that SDM server is down or what

If i restart the SDM, can i able to deploy properly?

or is there any other way?

This exception can also occur in case you configure the J2EE engine correctly but there are network issues connecting to your J2EE engine.Make sure you can connect to the server on the message server port by doing a

telnet <host> <port>

If telnet gets thro then there might be a different problem.

I got Connection lost as response.

Does it mean that XI server is not reachable, if i restart the Xi and SDM, will the problem be resolved.

Get in touch with your basis guys and check if your message server is running properly or not.

Hi,

Have you given the details in your NDS

NDS->window->Preferences->SAP J2EE engine

The PORT needs to be message server port (generally 3600)

Or you can try deploying directly thrugh SDM

I think sdm is down? right? i need to restart the sdm if am correct?!?
