Hi ,

when you do GRN system calculates Expiry date on basis of shelf life given in plant data.where next inspection date given on basis of interval given in QM view.

In qa07 you can create varient for both Expiry & next inspection material level or plant level.

Dear, if i enter 10 days in qa07, the system checks the next inspection date that falls within next 10 days and displays the same. am i correct? it will not consider the shelf life expiry date. please confirm.

The top half of QA07 does the inspection lots and uses the next inspection date.

The bottom half monitors for expired batches and uses the batch expiration date.

Each half of the QA07 has a place to separately specify the number of days out to check.

Both field will be used if you use "Batch management" in your business.

Total shelf life - "Period for which the material will keep in total, that is, from the date of production to the shelf life expiration date." With ref to production date and this field system will calculate shelf life exp. date of Material's batch.

Ex.: If you have entered 36 at total shelf life and "M - month" as period indicator in material master. Now once you enter production date as "09/2009" then system will calculate shelf life exp. date "09/2012", which you can see at MSC3N.

Inspection interval - If you use recurring inspection "insp type - 09" then only this field will used for batch managed material. To understand in detail refer following thread:

Hope this helps.

Thanks!!!

hi yadav,

PLEASE ADVISE WHEN WE RUN QA07, WHETHER SYSTEM ACTS AGAINST SHELF LIFE OR INTERVAL DAYS? Please advise.

This QA07 is purely based on the shelf life that you maintinaed in the plant spec view in the material master.

In QA07 there are two parts to the program.

One section creates inspection lots for recurring inspection. This functionality uses the "next inspection date" on the batch record which gets calculated from the production date + the inspection interval maintained on the QM plant view of the material master.

The other section, uses the "batch expriation date" on the the batch record which is calculated from the production date + the total shelf life value from the material master. The batches are restricted if batch status management is active, otherwise the system moves the inventory in the specified plant to blocked stock.

If you want to create "Recurring inspection lot - insp type 09" then you need o mention inspection interval at QM view of material master. If you need detail info please read following thread:
