Use of Class Type: 005 Inspection Characteristics

Can anyone help me to know the utility & senario for using Class Type: 005.

It's mostly for indexing characterisitcs.. giving your users another option to finding the characteristics using the classification screen of in the matchcodes.

For instance, you can define a characteristic call TEST TYPE. Then give all the various viscoisty tests the value of VISCOSITY for test type.

When you want to transfer the results from MIC to batch or Config you have to use Class Type: 005 Inspection Characteristics.

No.. that is incorrect. 022 or 023 batch class type is used for transferring results to the batch.

005 is used to classify master inspection characteristics.

Youe are right its actually not for RR to be trnsfer to batch(its class type 23).

Class char when you want to use with refer to MIC its use class 5.

Also when you want to use certian MIC in a class(CL01) then it must be created through class 5.
