DP release to PPDS

Hi Gurus,

I have DP in weeks after final adjustments, i am planning to release weekly planning result to PPDS.

questions

1. How PPDS will read my PIR and how its going to split in days?

2. Do need to use SNP and see the week PIR in days and the release to PPDS?

Hi Raj,

Answer to your questions are:

1. How PPDS will read my PIR and how its going to split in days? - You release the forecast to the SNP and within SNP horizon PPDS will use this PIR during the next planning run. Weekly forecasts released to SNP are split to days based on setting in the product master SNP2 tab page "Period Split" , provided the Storage buckets profile in DP has days along with weeks in your case. If storage bucket profile does not have day wise storage still it will be possible to split the forecast to days by defining and maintaining the daily bucket profile in transaction /sapapo/rtsoutput_fcst. The help in this transaction and /sapapo/mat1 for SNP2 tab page are self explanatory.

2. Do need to use SNP and see the week PIR in days and the release to PPDS? No need to release from SNP to PPDS. As mentioned earlier with in SNP horizon maintained in TA /sapapo/mat1 SNP2 tab page PPDS will be the planning tool, and SNP SNP does not plan in this horizon.

Hi Raj,

As the planning area is common across for both SNP and

PPDS, you can configure the customisation settings in

PPDS and also maintain the master data for PPDS in

product master.

Once that is done, based on the PIR's available in system,

system will plan the receipt elements for PPDS and

makes it available in their respective key figures.

These receipts (say like planned orders) can also be

taken to R/3. The pre-requiste for this planning is the

availability of master data in APO from R/3 via Core

interface (CIF)
