SAP high availability installation DB installation error

Dear Friends,

i am doing High Avalibitly Cluster installation of SAP ECC6.0 on sun solaris, ASCS is installed (and running) but when i am installing DB on the same server, on the very initial screen of DB installtion its throwing an error as shown below

AN exception occured while connecting to the message server instance PEC/ASCS01 on host m-ecascs01-lh, port 3901.

DIAGNOSIS: the original exception was:

wapsmod.ms.MsAttachFailed: Connect to message server (m-ecascs01-lh/3901)failed: NICONN_REFUSED.

SoLUTION: Make sure that the message server is started.

I think there is some problem connecting with the message server, although i have checked that ms service is running on OS. but i am wondering what could be the cause of this.

Check permissions on /sapmnt/<SID>/ * . Also check if in the DEFAULT.PFL following parameter is defined :

rdisp/msserv_internal = 39xx
