Hi @ll,
could it happen that SAP requires in case of an failure on an virtualized SAP system to rebuild/restore it on a dedicated environment? Has anybody heard about this?

Hi,
There are tools available for Virtual to Physical. At any point of time you can do that. Also you can plan for the backup stratergy accordingly.

this could only happen if yo are using Oracle as your database. Other than that, SAP supports fully VMware.

That's correct. To be more precisely, DB2 and MS SQL also restrict specific versions or combinations:

As far as I know, no party had ever exercised their option of having the issue recreated on a native environment, and I wouldn't be afraid of Oracle doing it.
