Excluding Certain Characteristics in CDP (Charac. Dependent Planning)

Hi SAP Team,

We are using standard functionality of Characteristics Dependent

Planning in our business scenario, where different characteristics of a

demand /receipt element are taken into account and Planning, Pegging

etc is carried on.

There are certain set of characteristics, which are only relevant for

information purpose in APO but are not at all required for Planning.

But, in normal Planning Run, these characteristics are also considered.

Is that the stadard behaviour or is their a way out to restrict the

same.

Kindly advise.

Hi Bagchi,

You can control through Organisational areas while generating the

characteristics.

Do not activate an integration model for characteristics and classes

for which no organizational areas have been specified. All classes

and characteristics that are assigned organizational areas would then

be transferred from the ERP system to SAP APO.

You must also create the organizational areas for planning-relevant

classes and characteristics for class type 400 in SAP APO because

the Customizing settings are not transferred to SAP APO.

Only use planning-relevant characteristics in SAP APO for CDP. Create

user-specific organizational areas in the ERP system and specify these

in the integration model to mark characteristics in the ERP system as planning

relevant

Hi Senthil,

I tried separate Organization Area for characteristics, which I want exclude from Planning.As, the requirement for that some specific characteristics ( variant charc)with values should to APO, as information but should not play any role in Planning & Pegging. With separate Org Area say Z,in that case in CDP class charac. with Org Area A ( relevant for APO) has come n these charac with Org. Area Z are appearing in CDP class but without any org area.

Now, whats happens now when any Sales orders comes to APO, then these characteristics with Org Area Z comes with value Zero(0). Can you give some inputs.
