can anybody adwise me where can I get information how to set and use the solution manager as knowledge base?

Hi Shyam,
it can be very useful me later but now I need more comprehensive approach. I can see a tab named Solution Database in a window of the support messages of Solution manager. I am interested in if it can be a knowledge base from former issues and other notices or not. Unfortunately I have no help text here.

You can use solution DB as knowledge DB. use TRXN IS01 for maintaining problem and solution to it.

Are you talking about Solution database ? If yes you can find information and configuration doc from SPRO
Customer Relationship Management -> Enterprise Intelligence -> Solution Database or
Solution manager> scenario specific settings> service desk> solution database> configure sol db
