Hi
I am trying to install SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP 1 on Windows Server 2003 [Standard x64 Edition] with DB2 9.5 as the underlying database. During the installation process, the following 23 phases ran successfully.
Check Solutionmanager key
Create users for SAP system
Install common system files
Unpack SAP archives
Install SAP Cryptographic library
Create and load database
Install database software
Create database ports
Create database instance
Prepare to create tablespaces
Create database file system
Update database registry
Stop database instance
Update database manager configuration
Start database instance
Start database instance
Create database
Update database configuration
Create database partition groups
Create bufferpools
Create tablespaces
Grant database previledges
Stop database instance
But it stopped at Phase 24 "Start database instance" giving error.
In sapinst.log, I found the following:
WARNING 2010-02-18 15:30:08.970

Current Kernel patch level is 32, I upgraded to 69, but it still gives the error on retrying the installation <br>

Hi,
Have you tried to start DB2 Instance manually ?
Please analyze the System/Application Logs and get the possible causes. Also ensure the status of DB2 related services with the dependent Services along with the User Authentication which is used in that Service(s).
I would perform re-installation from scratch, if such problem is not resolved.

Bhavik G. Shroff
