Client Copy for just user and roles profile

Hi all,

We had recently copied a client on an existing client. after which all the previous users had been replaced from the users of the source client. Now our users want their access back. I have to create all the roles manually now. Though these roles and users are maintained in another server. Is there an option of copying these roles from that server.

Have you thought of using the mass download option of roles in the source system and than doing a mass upload?

When doing a client refresh it is very common to take a client copy of user and roles, perform refresh and then import the users and roles again. Your Basis team will help you do this, it is the sort of thing that can be done in a few hours (it is effectively like a big transport going in).

Things to look out for are that any new users on the target system will be deleted and users will have the passwords that they have on the backup server at the time of the client copy.

As a precaution, users should not use the system during the client import and subsequent post processing as at some point they will lose their access
