How does locks work in the planning books in demand planning?

Hi all,

I just want to know if the user selects the same set of characters at the same time, how to ensure the lock arise? and if locks arise how to delete those locks?

Can anyone explain how the locks arise in apo demand planning?

Hi Pooja,

The following are the ways in which locks can be controlled

1) In demand planning, create data views and selection ids in which

similar data cannot be viewed at a time by users

2) In case lock has come, it is not a recommended practice to delete

the lock. In case of temporary instances wherein lock has created,

it will get cleared after sometime

3) In case of instant locks, you can refer to basis team so that they

try to clear it from datacache

Hi Pooja,

You can check the lock entries in SM12.

And there is a seperate tab in your DP planning area for the Locking Logic with different options.
