Project stock

Hi,

We have a problem with warehouse stock. Our clients create purchase order to buy materials against a project. These materials are sent to warehose ( goods receipt--> 101). Then our project gets the material from the warehose (221). The problem at this point is sometimes theses materials are been consumed from other project.

We have seen the option of project stock but we are not sure how it works. If we project has selected project stock. Could be these materials be retrieval from the warehose for other projects?

Hi Muzamil,

This is our case, we have 3 projects (Project A, Project B and Project C), one of them (Project A) creates a purchase orden to 3 materials. When these 3 materials enter in the warehouse the user makes the good receipt into warehouse (101). (our project don't check project stock). Then project B could retrieve from the warehouse the material.

We think this could be solved if projects check stocks, but we are not sure because we don´t know at what moment material is balanced. For example :

Project A --> PO 3 materials

Good receipt into warehouse ( 101) . At this point materials enter in the warehouse but the project don´t have the materials. How is the project stock at this moment ?

We need at this moment project A ( stock 3), project B and C ( stock 0) then project A can retrieve materials from the warehouse.

This is what exactly project stock does.

In project Stock, WBS Element becomes a stock segement. Whenever you do goods receipt, Materials are stored under project stock and can be issued only to that project, unless you do stock transfer from one project stock to other project stock.

There are some prerequisite to use project stock. Please refer Materials section under project system in SAP HELP Portal.

Hi,

If you want to use Project Stock in your company,then create PO with Account Assignment to WBSE and item cat Q.

After you receive the goods in your warehouse(101 Q) it is available for that WBSE only so issue it to the same WBSE.If you want the material to be used by other project transfer it to the that project WBSE by 415 Q or if you want to use that material for some other purpose transfer it to the unrestricted stock by 411Q .

Hi,

If you are procuring materials for a project you cant issue it to some other project unless and untill you transfer it from project to project by 415 Q.
