R/3 upgrade 4.6c to ECC 6.0 : Impacts on Portal

Hi All,

We are going through r/3 upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0, and we are not aware about the impacts it may cause on portal.

We are currently using EP 7.0. There is lot of customization involved at the portal end, specially in ESS and MSS.

We would be thankful, if anyone can throw some light regarding :

1) The business packages of ESS and MSS to be used in ECC 6.0, whether the version should be 50.4 or 60.1 ?

2) What changes are to be done on portal side, and to what extent?

Hi Anupama

Please see note 870126 if you plan to move to ERP2005

The ESS technology platform has changed between 47 and ERP2004 and SAP not longer recommend ITS based services with an ECC running a 700 kernel - some services are migrated for use with integrated ITS however I would recommend you implement fully the new WD JAVA ESS Business Packages

I would recommend to compile a complete customizing and modification list of the current system

- then perform a trial upgrade (test or dev only) to compare functionality and test the re-implementation of customizing/modifications

Yes we are in the process of upgrading the devlopment backend. We have prepared a comprehensive list of all customized applications and trying to fix the arising issues.
