Hi all,
I'm not an SD specialist I'm looking for ideas on how to reserve inventory for a specific customer. The business scenario is that there may be no inventory for a given material, but a receipt is expected in the next few days. The business may have identified that a preferred customer will require a certain amount of this inventory but have not yet placed a sales order.
The current process is to create a material reservation (MB21) and then delete it immediately before taking the actual sales order, however I think this is clunky.
I was looking at using Customer Independent Requirements thinking I would be able to specify a customer against the requirement, then have the sales order automatically reduce the requirement (like planned independent requirements) however I cannot see how to enter a customer against the requirement.
Anyone have ideas?
Mark.
Hi,
As far as my understanding, you can't reserve goods against customer.
I would like to suggest
Create one inquiry for that customer and reserve this stock against inquiry
and once the customer place the order you can create order with refrance to inquiry, and deliver sytem will decrease stock from reserved stock.
OR
you create one Dummy order and against this order number you can reserve stock.
