What pre-requisit is requires for migrating data from non-sap to sap sysyem in SD module and what type of data can be migrated e.i. master data, orders, deliveries, billing documents, customer meterial

Lets tak an example that you want to change the payment term in 100 customer, then you must have the .txt file of your 100 customer.

Yes you can use LSMW for master data, orders, deliveries, billing documents, customer meterial.

Thanks for the reply. As according to you, we can migrate master data, orders, deliveries, billing documents and customer meterial info record.

using LSMW.

So for master data system will ask for external number.

For order which are already has been created in older system, in SAP system will, how number system will be managed. As according to my knowledge SAP always display internal number when order is saved)

Similarily, how the number will be managed for deilivery and billing.

Hi Mr. Rajesh,

You can assign the external number range in your order also

Go to VOV8 --> Assign your external number range in your order type --> then you can give the same order number which was in your previous system

Same with delivery --> in T-code OVLK --> you can give your external number range

There is also one way

If you dont want to assign the external number range then make a internal number range for your order type and you can give your old system order number in the PO feild of your new order number.

the important pre requiste is to know what are the key fields or the mandatory fields in the particular screen concerned, after getting to know them make sure you have the details to be uploaded in a flat file ie in a notepad txt or a excel sheet in that case u hav to do some settings, make sure of the configurations for the application server path, if you have any conversions then u can have the formulas for those rules at hand foe entering it, if u r creating a idoc then u have ur partner profile determined.
