DFKKOP partitioning

Former Member

Hello there,

Our I-SU DFKKOP table increases day after day (today ~ 90000000 rows and 50 Gb). In despite of index compression which really improved some queries, we want move foreward towards partitioning. I have read this paper http://www.oracle.com/newsletters/sap/docs/wp-ora4sap-partitioning.pdf but it doesn't help. Is there a way according to your business, to figure out which column is candidate to partitioning?

Thanks for you help.

Regards.

Hello Stephan,

Great and worth to post the message. FYI, I'm a DBA and just give hand to our SAP SysAdm.

Thanks a lot for you help.

Hello Mourad,

Of course you can implement some partitioning manually, but i would not recommend it. (think about the house keeping, ABAP DDIC date fields can not be used, etc.).

In your case you are a in luck and the table DFKKOP is already included in the SAP partition engine - for detailed information please check sapnote #1333328
