Hi all,
What is setup matrix and is there a setup matrix size at plant level
thanks
Shanmugam
Hi Shanmugam,
Set up matrix are basically used in detailed scheduling of orders. Setup matrix is a matrix consisting of change time required from one setup group to another setup group.
The Setup group is maintained in the PPM and hence the product is assigned to a specific setup group. The setup matrix is assigned to the resource in resource master.
Now when the detailed scheduling is done then the resource is considered and based on the setup matrix assigned to resource and the setup group assigned to the chanding products in successive orders , set up time is calculated.
Even the setu costs can also be maintained in the set up matrix. The DS optimizer can do an optimized scheduling by minimizing the setup times / costs.
Let me know if it helps.

Gaurav

Hi Shanmugam,
Set up matrix contains the setup duration and setup costs required,
for any possible setup transition to a single resource, to bring the
resource from one setup status to another during setup. Setup statuses
are identified through setup groups or setup keys.
This will be maintained in APO system using transaction
/SAPAPO/CDPSC7
You can maintain setup matrix at a plant (location) level
