All FP reports hang - ADS issue

Former Member

Hi all,

We have ADS/PDF running fine here. Suddenly it stopped!

When running FP reports (all of them) they hang and keeps running on and on and on but no response, no error message, nothing. So ADS is not working. Here is HP-UP 11.23 JSDK 1.4.2_12 Support Package Stask 17 for NetWeaver 7.0. ADSSAP components has the latest patch 17.1. We double-triple checked all configurations (they are the same for the 3 envinroments DEV_QAS_PRD) but the problem is on DEV system. QAS and PRD are running fine.

Have anybody seen or faced this situation.

Please help. this is pretty critical for us.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

try this:

1. Shutdown J2EE engine

2. Rename the folder

/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap

to antoher folder name (ex. adssap.old)

3. Start J2EE engine

4. Also make sure XMLform.exe is extracted under

/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/XMLFormService/bin

/ the name is XMLForm.exe also on unix plattforms. On unix it is a script file /

This process will refresh the binary files of the ADS. Test after this.

Hi Deszo,

This is with reference to SAP OSS number--157222 and the issue with regards to 'Lead Selection' and 'Javascript' on BSP Pages for the E-Recruitment Application.

We are still working on getting the HTTP Connection opened up, but unfortunately, we are now facing 'javascript.void' error on ALL the BSP pages. Previously, we were facing trouble only with 'Lead Selection'.

We had checked Sbpext_Table as well--what do you think is the issue?....This has stalled all development work!!

Hello,

I have faced the similar situation but it was quite some time ago and I am sure the reason was the technology was not that precise at that time. Every SP it is getting better, faster etc. If you think everything is up-to-date then no upgrade/ patch will help you.

When I have seen this, the behavior was always the same - we were watching the graph of the server performance - it rises as the form is being generated and drops very fast all of the sudden and nithing more happens. We had to restart the server very often. Maybe the size of the forms (we had dozens of pages in a single form) or the number of forms being generated caused the problem.

If there was any interference with some other service we didn´t find that.
