Resource network

Hi Guys,

How to use resource network , can we replace the PPM or PDS with resource network. Can PPDS optimizer select alternate resource based on resource network , if it so what are the changes in PPM or PDS to be done ?

Please guide me ,I am in need of using resource network due to very huge alternate resources are used.

- Resource Network

The master data in PP/DS has been enhanced by the addition of resource networks; you can create,

change, display, or delete these. To access resource networks, in the SAP Easy Access menu, choose

Advanced Planning and Optimization -> Master Data -> Resource -> Resource Network. Alternately, use

the /SAPAPO/RESNET transaction directly.

A new BAdI for resource networks, /SAPAPO/BADI_RESNET, has also been introduced. You can use

this BAdI to implement customer-specific changes for resource networks.

I am curious about RESNET_TRANSFER? I can't find an ABAP program or tcode with RESNET in it.

How does the resource network interface with ECC?

If it doesn't how do you get the PDS's to use it?

Hi Thamizh,

Resource network is a newly added functionality by SAP in

SCM 7.0 version

Maintaining resource network reduces the number of master data

permutations in the PPM and PDS by eliminating the need for mode

coupling. A resource network's data needs to be created and

maintained in SAP APO, and can be modified at any time.

You can also integrate from ERP data using RESNET_TRANSFER

PPDS Optimiser does production scheduling using

resource network.

Using resource network, you can maintain and establish relation

between resource1 and resource2 (inverse not possible) and hence

in PPM/PDS data, the pain in maintaining different modes is not

required and this pain will be replaced by resource network

Thanks for your input , I created the resource network, and PPM also availble in the system , now orders created in system based on PPM ,now i want to do PPDS optimizer so that my orders would be schedule on other resources ,which are maintained in resource network , however system is not doing the same, pl help me to achive this.
